Craven units entered service on Hull area services in January 1957. This notice from District Operating Superintendents,Hull on 19th September 1956 to Station Masters explains what these new diesels were! They first arrived in Hull in August 1956 and started to appear on Driver training specials on the areas branch lines. This scanned from a very fragile document sent to signalmen at Whitedale on the Withernsea line.
