An unusual set at Birmingham Moor Street on 3 May 1985 in the form of Bristol's class 119 set B590 (51087 + 59418 + 51058). I don't know what the next working might have been and wonder if there were no names for stations in the West Midlands on its destination roller blind. This was a time when this part of Birmingham was pretty run down and the backdrop here reflects that nicely. The buildings have all gone in 2025 but the new developments are to my eyes much less interesting and nothing like as photogenic and the DMUs using the station today don't have anything like the character of the first-generation units. At the date of this picture Moor Street was terminus of the lines from Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa but clearance work on the trackbed to Snow Hill had just commenced prior to its later reopening.
