Parcels at Penkridge. Several boxes have been ejected from the guards compartment of the Stoke-on-Trent bound Park Royal DMU. The lady porter is Mrs Harris (nee Cooper) she is heading purposefully towards them, obviously intending to carry them to join the pile she has assembled on the facing platform. Architecturally 'functional' is the best that can be said for Penkridge station but the appearance is clean and tidy, no doubt the work of the lady in the picture, the Stationmaster was Mr Humphreys. Image taken by Peter Shoesmith on 4 November 1966.
