Class 101 DTSL E56367 leads the 17:07 service to Durham out of Newcastle on 12 May 1978. On the left E56380 waits to depart with the 17:05 fast service to Haltwhistle (although Hexham is on the blind). This service ran non-stop to Corbridge, a 17:10 departure to Hexham would provide an all-stations service.
