A Bedford-bound class 127 seen north of Hendon in January 1980. Although the masts for the impending electrification are up, these old DMUs would rattle up to St Pancras until mid-1983. Kevin Lane.

Two Rolls-Royce powered Derby suburban quad sets head to Luton, seen just north of Hendon station, circa early 1960s. The Down & Up Hendon lines rise on the right of picture, and will cross the Down & Up Fast and Down slow behind the camera at Silkstream Junction Stuart Mackay Collection.
