Seen at Langley Green in 1986 is Tyseley's class 118 set T632 (presumably 51323 + 59475 + 51308) pictured pulling away from the stop in the station heading for Birmingham New Street with a train from Worcester. The signalman has wasted no time in returning his inner home to signal to danger. Peter Tandy.
A suburban DMU at Maidenhead sometime in 1986. Closest is Class 118 DMS W51319, which had become a spare power car after W51304 had been withdrawn 1985, which may account for the unusual placement of the set number, with a stray L in the normal position, and L413 added below. This suggests the other vehicles are presumably 59501 and 51349. John Law.

The 15:25 Weymouth - Taunton service is a nine-car formation with Class 118 B464 (W51321 + W59473 + W51306) at the front followed by Class 117s W51370 + W59522 + W51412 / W51339 + W59492 + W51382. Seen at Yeovil Pen Mill on August 10th, 1986. Hamish Stevenson.
Barnt Green station is the junction on the main Birmingham to Gloucester line where the branch to Alvechurch and Redditch, and formerly Evesham, diverges. On Saturday 16 August 1986 I was standing on the site of the old Goods Yard when a 6 car DMU came from the Birmingham direction with a New Street to Barry Island train formed of Tyseley's T632 (presumably 51308 + 59475 + 51323) and another suburban unit with a centre car from a different class; far from unusual at this time.
