Oops! A broken axle and badly twisted bogie frame on the cab end of a Derby Lightweight vehicle are being inspected. There were no details with the negative but it seems to be the same incident as captioned Colour Rail image reference 30136 making it M79185, circa early 1960s. Stuart Mackay Collection.

E79152 at the front of the 11.35am Newcastle - Leeds City about to depart from York on May 19, 1962. This was one of the four-car sets, un-repainted since new as all vehicles still have the original lion over wheel crests. The cab front has had whiskers applied, and a dummy socket added for the jumper cables. There could be draft problems in the cab judging by the amount of papers shoved down the front of the drivers desk. Michael Mensing.
