DMU Operations: North Eastern Region
Darlington / Barnard Castle - Middleton-in-Teesdale
DMUs were introduced to the Barnard Castle - Middleton-in-Teesdale service in June 1957 using DMUs allocated to Darlington depot. There was no Sunday service. The service was integrated with the Darlington - Penrith service until that ended in January 1962.
The passenger service ended on Monday 30 November 1964, the last train running on Saturday 28th.
